Finger 指筆 is the creation of my good friend, Bill So Hok Chun, who has the courage to choose the road less traveled by being the few brave souls to launch his iPhone application at Apple app store. It is a new way to leverage the app store platform and help people to increase their productivity via useful and fun application.
Bill’s Finger is the ideal solution for people like me not proficient in typing Chinese character. Of course, it is a great excuse to play with iPhone and join the crowd who cannot live without fingering. 🙂
It has been a learning journey for me to decamp from Window to Mac world.? Who says you cannot teach an old dog new trick? 🙂
Dear Josephine:
Not so fast! I just borrow my friend’s iPhone to practice Finger.
With iPhone 3G S, I think my day with no mobile phone is closing to end. I am working on the new rationality not to have mobile phone now. 🙂
Please never underestimate people’s ability to change. Anyway, as my good friend, Freda, said it is always a good thing to have new options. I think Kindle 2 and Kindle DX will promote reading in the younger generation. Imagine if we can put all the text book in e-book format, the cost saving will be tremendous. I cannot imagine one day we can do google search on all books in the world and the notes anyone have made on their favorite sentences.
e-Book is here to stay.

well, good for you to have an i-pod touch.
also, i agree with you, when i read paper book, i will be touch by words, but on monitor, weird, the feeling is very very rational.
Dear Freda:
I agree with you that book in the current paper form will not be replaced by Kindle or any e-book in the near future.
Frankly speaking, I still love the tactile feeling of holding a book in hand. I can flip through the book quickly, instead of pushing next page botton repeatedly on Kindle.
Now, Amazon just announced to have a 9.5 inch screed Kindle DX. I know it is easier to read newspaper with this bigger screen. Newspaper desperately needs a new distribution channel to save them from distinction.
By the way, you surely cannot beat the convenience of reading a Kindle during traveling. I also saw a handicap people using Kindle to read. I suddenly realized that Kindle has other practical use for these less fortunated people too.
Nice to chat with you.

yea, Kindle is good in a way. but to really enjoy reading, in a warm sunny aftnoon, has to involve a book (real, i.e. paper) in hand, with cozy music floating, and to let imagination run to no end. to me, ebooks or audiobooks are tools only, for my information reads, i simply cannot enjoy a Jane Austen in them. i have to admit, the convenience a Kindle can offer is no compare. i am glad that we have choices.
Dear Freda:
No, I still don’t own a cell phone.
I did fall in love with iPhone though. I think my days of not owning a cell phone is near end.
I just bought a Kindle 2. I love it because I don’t need to bring heavy books when I am traveling. I also can make notes and learn new words with Kindle. I think Kindle will promote more reading and selling more books in the long run.
Good to see you here.

since when you start having a cell? that is a huge step.
