  1. Dear Billibala:

Hey, I am glad to know that you visit my blog regularly.

I will definitely read 余光中 (記憶像鐵軌一樣長) next time if i can find this essay in my collection book. Yes, 余光中 was in Hong Kong and he is really found of Hong Kong even though he is settling down in KaoHsiung now.

I am not a poet but I just love to read something that can inspire me to reawaken my inner child with no inhibition and no string attached. Isn’t this what we all seek for: Freedom and liberation.

Happy Holiday to you and your loved ones.

    Ping

  2. Dear Freda:

Yes, we had a wonderful and fun night for our 2nd Stage Time and Wine @ Red Room.

We changed the place to my company’s Learning Kitchen ( a wood floor class room with an open kitchen ). It is more intimate and cosy than the office.

We had around 40 people showed up and everyone got a chance to read loud their favorite poems. I got my chance this time to read a poem on homesickness by 余光中. I want to read more Chinese poems even most of our guests are bilingual foreigners.

I am glad I did read loud with emotion on this poem. I was nervous to show my emotion with the magic words by 余光中. We are all travelers in this world. Our home is where our hearts are. However, we always have a special place for our childhood and our love ones.

We also had a great musical treat and a wild and hilarious session with Dr. Seuss’s children’s book. It was pure fun and joy to get lost in this literacy night.

We are going to have 3rd Stage Time and Wine on next January.

Hope one day you can join us, in spirit and here.

Do you want me to read your favorite poems for you? I would love to do so as a Christmas gift to you. 🙂

    Love you,

    Ping

  3. Hey ping! I like Prof 余光中. Still remember an essay (記憶像鐵軌一樣長) by him where he mentioned about his train ride experience when he’s teaching in Hong Kong 🙂

  4. the most desirable fun is when you also are inspired and encouraged. a lot of deep meaning come from small things too. i love this idea of gathering.

what a brilliant way of celebrating: bring your own cup.

i am waiting too see what a wonderful time you have.

  5. Dear Freda:

Actually, Ayesha and I intentionally made this event less structured. I want to create a space that is not intimidating with any specific purpose other than fun and making friends. We are not here to find deep meaning in life, learning any profound wisdom or even being productive. 🙂

I just believe that if we put creative people together in a fun and free environment, magic things will happen.

I have no role in teaching anyone anything. I just created a space with Ayesha. It is up to the guests if they feel inspired or not.

Yes, it would be a good idea to record some recital with the permission from the readers. I will propose to include this idea in our next event.

Thank you, Freda, for your support. It means a lot to me.

    Love you,

    Ping

  6. Dear Kimmy and Yumi:

I only reserve 10 seats for my friends in this blog tribe. It would be a multi-language event. It is a great way to experience the different culture and mingle with creative friends at the same time.

I am including the invitation email that I just sent out to my selective friends as follow:

    Dear friends:

I don’t send mass email to my friends normally, and I am sure you also know I am not used to send short emails! 🙂

But in the interest of time, I hope you’d forgive me for sending this invitation in a mass email format.

After the big success of our first experiment of this inspiring and fun gathering, I will co-host with Ayesha the second Stage Time with Wine @ Red Room on Dec 12 at my Canmeng Aveda office. Ayesha is a beautiful and brilliant lady with a dream to create a space that we all can practice deep listening and creative expression.

Celebrate the spoken word with us as we read our own passages or those that we yearn to share.
Speak. Listen. Hear. Feel. Come and share a unique experience with new and old friends.
    Live music and warm company

    All languages desired!

BYO to share; the bar will be created as the night progresses, please contribute a bottle!

  7. Dera朱平老師:
    很開心聽到這好消息,
    也很想參加,不過,可以先請問地點與活動時間嗎?(因為我不住在台北)

  8. yes, i totally agree. everyone who participate should be well prepared to present and to listen, if possible, some questions and thoughts exchange. a good community should help to build and rebuild, among fellows. i am happy for you, that you are able to do what is so right for our society. is it possible you may record this recital?

  9. Dear Freda:

I think the success of this event is due to the need for everyone to practice deep listening and creative expression. We also need to mingle with like minded people so our creative energy can be recharged.

The pendulum will be shifted from virtual world to physical world if we can create meaningful and fun gathering place.

    Ping
