    還是再次謝謝朱平講師,謝謝您願意來,so proud of you , really !
You made so many people’s day.

    您最後的提問central culture or central living

A special soul with a special mission in life

    1. Dear Trista:

Next tiime, when you see me in any occassions, you should just walk up to me and say hello.

Lung Ying Tai Foundation’s goal is to encourage more young people to become civil minded global citizens. I think they did an excellent job.

I waited till the last to ask questions because I wanted other young people to have the opportunity first.

I always think all culture centers failed because of the function was still surrounded the old mode of thinking: performance, exhibit, experiment, park, commerce and education. To me, the new culture center should be a living center with low rent accommodation for artists, teachers, crative profession and, yes, retiree. I want to see a culture center that is actually a living village, not just a place for celebration of huge event or tourist spot.

Again, only government can play a role of this low rent accommodation, otherwise, it will destined to be a fancy hotel with boring premium retail complex due to the high cost of the land. ( I have low faith in BOT in Taiwan due to the lack of the purpose driven developers in Taiwan. )

I really want to see one day we can develop a cultural artist village with daily living actually happened there.

Well, we need to keep dreaming. Hopefully, one day we can be the change and become a developer to develop this kind of cultural village.

To me, living and experiencing of being alive is the highest form of real culture.

      Love,

      Ping

    You really make my day

    Regards:
    Alex

    1. Dear Alex:

Wow, now you are making my day by offering this insightful observation of your own thinking pattern.

Can I use your comment on my future PPaper Business monthly column?

You are so right. ROI is a blindsight and shot term mentality that will block your chance to open different windows in life.

Investing in experience and intangibles will bring you a happier life. It is a learned epiphany, actually. 🙂

Well, I think you are on your way to a life of paying attention on your thinking pattern. This is the first step to enlightenment.

I am so happy to read your comment. I hope everyone in this blog will be benefit by your reflection and contemplation.

      Well done.

      Ping

    psychology, philosophy and art/music appreciation/history

    best wishes Trista

    1. Dear Trista:

I want to thank you for inviting me to engage with your young friends. I enjoyed the sharing very much. As I told everyone in the room that all I can do is to plant a seed. Hopefully, one day when you are ready, this seed will grow and blossom.

I know how hard it is to ask for business to support student’s project. You are right that it is OK that business turned down your request. However, it is the way they handle your request that is the true reflection of a business’s culture. I don’t know if Canmeng Aveda has passed this test. I just wish our team can handle this situation better.

One thing I want to point out is that no business has the obligation to help student’s project. It is not fair to use noble cause to ask anyone to help students. Students need to be creative to earn their own money if they are so convineced their project worth going. There are many ways to raise money from your own effort and hard labors. Never ask for any hand out is the mantra. I never like the entitlement mentality. Students are not entitled to receive any preference treatment in terms of asking for help, especially for money.

      Tough Love,

      Ping

  4. Thank you a lot , PingChu.
We are so lucky that we ‘ll get a chance to listen to your speech.
And it’s also definitely my honor and pleasure to
share the people I admire with the others .
Thank you again . Thank you for that you’ll coming

I’ll enjoy and try my best for any opportunities
I meet during my college ! Thanks

    Best wishes to you 🙂

    Trista

    1. Dear Trista:

Please take some courses on psychology, philosophy and art/music appreciation/history.

These are things that will grow on you and you can enjoy for the rest of you life.

Did Fei Fei tell you that you need to inform all attendee to do their homework and be ready by reading my book and this blog? I hate to waste my time on people who did not do their homework. I am not interested in talking to anyone who has no idea of who I am and why I am invited.

Only when a student is ready, teacher will show up.

      Ping

  5. Dear Trista;

I think Fei Fei will follow up on your request.

I do have a special place in my heart for AIESEC. However, I am planning to scale back my talk to the public after May of 2012.

Please enjoy and create memorable experience in your college time.

    Love,

    Ping
